I'm not feeling well still. I was annoyed so I was up complaining until two or so, then I just sort of passed out. I woke up around nine when Mike woke up screaming because he missed his psychology final. He's making it up now, so until then I'm stuck in Kelly Hall, floor 3. I just ate a tasty cake, which hell must taste something like since I feel like I'm about to puke.
My nose hurts right now again, and I need to clean up all of my clothes that are scattered on the floor. This trip would be much easier if I didn't have to get sick. But I managed pretty well still. I'm not sure what I'm doing for the remaining days, but it's weird to believe that KO aren't even out of school yet. I have work in a few days though, and that's going to be lame. But it will be nice to get real food once again, even if it is the same old thing week upon weeks.
I need to take a shower, then I want to go somewhere. I'm not exactly sure where. It's raining again like it was last night. Oh yes, last night. Well, I got back to the Drexel campus around seven or so, then around 7:45 or so Mike and I walked up to the Upenn campus around 40th street and went to this diner. We got a bunch of food, and brought some for later. It was so delicious though since I didn't eat anything since morning except for an amazing hot chocolate and a cookie. I have my sandwich in the fridge of one of the people on Mike's floor across the hall, but he isn't here so I can't get it.
Anyway, what else? We don't know if we're going to New York for sure, but hopefully so. There's no real plan what we're doing as of yet, but we'll decide that when Mike gets back. I'm done for now, I need to shower my dirty self, and then I'll be off into the world.
Okay, well let's see. It's Tuesday and my sickness is feeling a bit better, though my nose is stuffed up still. Today I rode up to Arcadia. I took the subway, and wasn't paying attention so I missed when there was a transfer over to the express train. So I rode up and caught the bus in time to go up there. I rode the bus, got to admissions, and when I got off the bus it was very dreary outside. I got to the campus and sure enough right as I found admissions the person left. So I got a map from the people and they said I could walk the grounds and that that person would get back to me tomorrow, though you know, I'll be away tomorrow. So I was looking for a way into at least one of the dorms after walking a bit and after peering through the windows some commuter guy came out and let me into the commuter lounge. He let me in and I explain my situation and he gave me a tour with his friend of the area, because he had some free time and was on his way out anyway. It was very small and quaint, like he pointed out, and it didn't seem that bad of a college. A lot different setting than St. Joseph, that's for sure. They both had their positives and negatives. I think I liked Arcadia slightly more, but I dunno..
Well, I'm going to go now.
Bye.
Today we walked to the Philly museum of art around three or so, and got there around 3:45. We took a polaroid, it turned out two of my photos stuck together and were ruined, and that kind of sucked. It was a pretty nice day, so it wasn't bad at all. We did the cliche Rocky run, or rather Mike did after taking the cliche Rocky statue photo. Then we waited in line for about 20 minutes to get in (It turns out if we just went on the other side of the building we could have saved probably like 10-15 minutes.) then we got an expensive $2 snapple. Then we had to hang up our coats and Mike's bag, since it was slightly too big by policy to carry around. Then we went through the art, which was very interesting. We spend a lot of time on the first floor, but all of it was fantastic. There was a Frida Kahlo exhibit, but it cost like $20 and had a really long line, so I decided against it. It was "pay what you wish" Sunday at the museum which was really nice, though it probably makes it significantly more crowded. Then we walked back on this river trail, and got lunch at Drexel Pizza, which actually turned out to be quite good. And now here we are in the dorm, Mike's taking a nap because he has to study for his final exams which begin tomorrow. We're probably heading up to New York on Wednesday which will be fun.
Tomorrow I'm heading out to visit St. Joseph's, which will be pretty exciting. I also have to get up to Arcadia, and I guess I'll call them tomorrow if they don't give me an email confirmation. I can at least walk around the campus if I can't get a tour. I'll probably head up there Tuesday.
Mike's eyes are against natural lighting, so the window has been remaining closed. I don't know what else I'll be doing after I college visit. We need to go back to South Street, but I want to do that a little later in the week. There's a bunch still unexplored, and I love being somewhere that isn't what I'm use to. It's also great to have all of this time off. (See, look at me talking, I've had three days off and I'm already fully satisfied!)
Yeah, but all is very well. I'll upload some pictures in a bit, and then for the rest of the night I guess we're staying here, or at least probably close around the campus.
I'll see you later.
I haven't posted anything public in a long time, I just really haven't feeled that I should have at those points. Plus, nothing was that much of interest anyway.
I'm in Philly. It's my third day here and I got up about an hour or so ago. Mike took forever to wake up, stole my Asian pastries, and yeah. I ate the spinach Greek thing from last night that was very tasty for breakfast, along with the free Monsters we got from a promotional truck (Khaos).
Okay, so I'm sitting here becuase Mike can't stand natural light with a light on and the blinds clothes.
Anyway, I just spent some time looking at Draw Ball and then some horrible wolf/animal/Patriotic shirts. You know, THOSE ones. Mike's looking up when his exams are so we can plan what day we're going to travel to New York, which will be super exciting.
I feel like I've spent a ton of money the past two days, but I've been on vacation and such so that's okay. Plus a lot of the stuff was stuff that I needed to get for a long time that are larger expenses, such as $20 20 pack of polaroid film, which is becoming increasingly hard to find for a good price.
Mike's taking forever to look for his exam schedule. We're suppose to do something after that, but it's taking such a long time.
So, yesterday around three or so we finally got out of the dorm room and we headed to Wawa. I was going to get mashed potatoes and macaroni, but they didn't have the macaroni, but that turned out to be enough. Mike got a sub. I also got this kiwi pear drink which was fantastic. Then we went to Chinatown and there we picked up Lipovitin and a bunch of ripoff Red Bull type products, even though we didn't get a lot of them. Then we went to this Asian pastries store and bought a bunch. I save an almond cookie and muffin for tomorrow, but it turned out Mike ate them when I got up, but oh well. (I totally wanted it though!) So down there I also got these cute stickers and Mike got this Pikachu puff for his room. I also bought that polaroid film down there and a lunch box type thing. Then we saw his Chinese roommate down there trying to buy fish. Then we headed down to this restaurant, and Mike didn't know where it was so we spent like three hours trekking everywhere around the city. We found this cool furniture store that had nice, cheap furniture. It was for some black education fund, and the stuff was cool. They had these fantastic mirrors.
So then we finally ended up walking the whole city to South street (Also mind this whole day since it was the Saturday of St. Patrick's day that there were drunks everywhere, and this is like the "bar" area.) and went to this diner. It was really nice and I got this Greek thing and some tasty home fries, and Mike got liver and onions, along with soup. Then we walked back, and by then my back was extremely strained. I was extremely tired and stayed up for a little bit before eventually falling asleep.
Now we're going to go to the Art Museum to go see the Frida Kahlo exhibit, which I am quite excited about. It's only Sunday and I still have until Friday to be here, which is pretty neat. I dunno what we're going to do after that, but I'm on my way out now.
I'll see you later!
I have extreme back pain from lifting all my luggage for a short time in the airport.
My back has never hurt so bad that I could ever recall.
But Philly is fun so far, and it's worth the luggage pain.
I need to get up and go places, which will occur soon.
Later!
I haven't written anything public in such a long time.
Everything you wanted to know about Polish last names.
That answered a lot of my ponder questions...
But it was interesting..
On Tuesday our one teacher talked about Make a Wish and his experience working with it. It was very inspiring. Then we also did more stuff in psychology by watching part of Pay It Forward and read an article of the same name on gratitude. I feel like I should do more, and I should look for more opportunities to give out to the community.
We also were learning about the Israel-Palestine conflict, and watched this movie on these kids that went to a summer camp from both sides, and now because of circumstances when they met they couldn't stand each other. I am still conflicted on that issue, as both sides have good points. IR has taught me a lot, and it's one of my favorite classes purely for the information I learn in it.
I'm listening to Pandora.com now and knitting. It's a fun morning, I suppose.
I got up around 8:30 or so, and have been on the computer, painting, and eating breakfast.
Wednesday I went over Mike's after school and then Mike came over later after he was done with dinner. That was fun. Thursday I woke up around 10:30 or so, and all day just went online and uploaded photos, knitted a good part of BJ's scarf (It's like 90% done! :D ) played Final Fantasy XII shortly before I realized you should be at level 30..(I might work on that again today.), cleaned and vacuumed my room, watched Frida and Monster (Frida I love that movie, and Monster was pretty interesting.), reading penpal letters ate Thanksgiving dinner (The mashed potatoes and carrot stuff was good, but the stuffing was subpar. I had no turkey.). Then I started painting and Mike came over and we chilled, ate pie and ice cream, and watched a good part of The Life Aquatic. I was getting really tired though after a while and he had a stomach ache and since I had nothing for his stomach he went home and I went to sleep. It's a good movie so far. I usually don't watch many movies, but I like to when I have the chance.
It's snowing, which is totally a contrast from earlier in the week. But I think the cold weather is here to stay.
And now it's the official holiday season, though from the storefronts you'd think it started November 1st. It keeps getting moved up. I need to work on my college stuff, and I suppose apply to more American schools because my dad has a personal vendetta against me going to Toronto despite the fact everything he's told me against it I disproved (financial aid, health care, cost etc..) Whatever, it's my college and he's not going.
Anyway I want to go to the Beehive tomorrow. I was going to go today, but I guess I'll find other things to do (there are many things to do.) I'm going to Oakland and Phipps on Monday and I'm so excited for that.
I saw Bodies last week. It was interesting, but it wasn't all the hype I expected. Sci-tech day was fun though because I got so much free stuff (light up pens, chapstick, etc :) ) and the Omnimax on the Tour de France was really neat. This week at school was okay. I made up my psych test, worked on my English paper, talked about random crap in Japanese, worked on the coloured pencil project in art that keeps getting pushed back (I think it'll be due after break...I think)
Anyway, I dunno what I'm really doing this weekend. I'm happy it's the holiday season though, though after that is the gloomy days of January-March. But before that is finals, college apps, etc. So there's a way. But this year has been passing so quickly.
And don't mean to be "emo", but friendships and relationships are such a tangled bush of thorns and roses. As sweet, delicate, and beautiful the rose is, while the thorns leaving marks, blood, and pain. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, and if I could give a thousand apologies to those involved I would. I just wish that the situation was understood and understood that I tried my best.
Anyway, it's not snowing anymore and I have a whole day ahead of me.
Our health "assignment" was to look in the mirror everyday and say "I'm awesome." Try it, I remember I asked someone to do this once (they didn't like the idea.)
So, later awesome people of the world!
What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?
Submitted by Kadeeae.
The mashed potatoes. Then corn and stuffing.
I was never the turkey girl.
This year we're spending Thanksgiving at home. I very rarely eat with my family anymore, and it'll be my last one before I go to college so yeah. And I'm so glad for those three days off!
I'll post for real later, but I have a bunch to do now!
